Giant Peppermint Candy Stakes

Before you cut anything. Print with page scaling set to 100 percent or "actual size", never "fit to page". Then measure the ruler printed under each shape. If it does not measure what it says it measures, the printer scaled the page and every dimension on it is wrong.

Peppermint disc and spiral

Finished size 12" wide by 12" tall. This one prints at 50 percent, because the real thing is bigger than a sheet of paper. Two ways to use it: take it to a copy store and ask for 200 percent enlargement, or copy it square by square onto your stock, where every printed square is 2 in. on the real piece.

The spiral is a guide for where the red goes, not a line to trace exactly. Freehand over the top of it and let your line get fatter toward the outside.
